Life Savers
Creating focus - utilizing digital-print technology for a new line extension – enabling focus group testing well in advance of final brand messaging.
Challenge To develop and produce sales samples that would allow Wrigley to do market testing well in advance of final approval for the look and feel of the brand. Solution Kaleidoscope delivered packaging that was both visually compelling and cost-effective. We formulated and produced several hundred sales samples. Then, we printed on our HP Indigo digital press, filled them with product and crimped the seams, resulting in a ready-for-prime time bag of treats. Featured in a major confectionary show, the samples were depleted well before the show ended – a great early indicator of the products future success!

Nexxus
Star Power– creating an oversized model that ensured a valuable television product placement opportunity was not lost in the background.
Challenge To create an easily identifiable, oversize model, identical to the Nexxus standard-size bottle. Solution Utilizing a CAD model and our 3-D printer, Kaleidoscope generated a two-piece rapid prototype. The pieces were then hand assembled, sanded and painted by our experienced artisans, and color-correct transfers were applied. The result was an impactful model that helped Alberto Culver secure product placement in a new “coiffure competition” show – “Shear Genius” on Bravo.

Tropicana
Mouthwatering Models – creating realistic oranges, straw, carton and bottle that could handle the demands of both print and television advertising.
Challenge To create life-like oranges for Tropicana’s ad shoot that could take some serious abuse. Solution A bushel of oranges cascading down a ramp toward a group of excited children sounded simple enough…until the reality of multiple takes proved that real oranges were not going make it without showing signs of wear and tear. And it’s all about the orange juice. It’s their commodity. At Kaleidoscope we knew there was no wiggle room here. We had to create perfect replicas. Using actual Valencias as models, we created life-like oranges, with succulent appetite appeal, that could stand up to this strenuous gig. In addition, we produced hero comps of the carton, bottle and straw for both the TV and print ad work…and we quenched their thirst for a perfect solution.

CyberKnife
Mobile Impact – leveraging model shop and engineering capabilities to create a “lookslike – workslike” trade show piece that could be easily shipped.
Challenge To create a one-of-a-kind, full scale model of Accuray’s remote control surgical innovation called the CyberKnife that would draw major attention for Accuray at a critical national trade show. Solution Though the objective was straightforward, the technical challenges were tough – to deliver a non-working model that was lightweight, designed for easy set-up, break-down and shipping, and perhaps most importantly, that protected their valuable intellectual properties. Our industrial design and 3-D Lab teams went to work…brainstorming design and fabrication options, which would deliver a high-quality, timely and cost-effective solution. The result was an eight-foot tall replica of modern technology that was impossible to ignore. Through our collaborative process, Accuray got exactly what they were looking for – a true showstopper that significantly increased traffic at their booth.
